Tator Tot Hotdish Casserole (Minnesota Style)- 5 Ingredients

If you have never heard of Tator Tot Hotdish, you may be living under a rock. This is one of the most common hotdishes in the Midwest, but here in MN, we claim to be the hotdish capital of the world. Now that it is dark out at 5:00 and the forecast says snow tomorrow, I immediately turn to the classics. The difference in my Tator Tot Casserole, is I use frozen green beans and frozen sweet corn, I do not use the canned vegetables, they get soggy. Prep took me about 10 minutes, baking time 45 minutes. I hope you love it!

Ingredients

Recipe: 1 pound of browned hamburger minced onion 1 can cream of celery soup 1/2 can of milk (2 percent or whole) 1/2 bag of frozen sweet corn 1/2 bag of frozen green beans 3/4 a bag of tator tots ( I used Aldi brand since I was there but any brand works) Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

Brown the Hamburger until done with a little minced onion. When done, add the soup and the 1/2 a can of milk to the hamburger. Place mixture in the bottom of a casserole dish. Add the corn and green beans to the top of the casserole. Layer the tator tots on top of the vegetables until covered. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes, then if the tator tots are not browned, broil on low for 1-2 minutes (watch them carefully). Serve immediately.
